matters of the heart...

Sometimes, I wish matters of the heart were all that simple.. Aha.. but no.. it is not.

Well, as growing teens, at times we find people amongst us whom we begin to find a strong liking toward.. especially members of the opposite gender. Its not uncommon to find rejections, breakups and all such stuff happening...

Well, like at bro Choo Ming (zuyi's brother)'s wedding, the pastor recounted a story where there was this girl who was really popular amongst the guys. Then one day, one of the guys shared with him-God told me that this girl is the best girl for me. Well, the pastor (at that time still a youth) just laughed it off as a joke. However, in his heart, he was saying that God told them all(the guys) the same thing. Its just a matter of who God told her (that girl) was the best guy for her.

Thinking back, there were times I had likings to different girls. In my heart, sometimes I knew.. I just knew... that that girl was the best for me. However, thinking back, while they were the best girls for me, I was not the best guy for them.

God works in a very interestign way where He makes sure that the guy and girl He puts together are the best for each other. Perhaps this statement doesn't appeal very much to logic. However, quoting what Mrs Pang(Rev. Pang's wife-serving in the Chinese Christian Church of Saipan) shared with us-Never accept second best when God can give you Best. Meaning? Well, God will one day find us the best person for us. However, we must be patient and wait (something I must admit that I am not able to sometimes..). After all, if its not in God's will, it will never happen; no matter how much you like each other.

While I struggled with this in my early teens, Desmond let me hear a sermon where this pastor was talking about BGR matters. He said Love is a commitment. Not that fluffy pink feeling which is always so wrongly portrayed by hollywood. Love is not something that is nice all the time. Love has its tough sides. Well, in 1Cor 13 Paul tells us what true love is(as we covered in BS).

Between husband and wife, while there's that godly jealousy(like what bro Dominino talked about in his messages) there's no suspicion. There is trust, where both parties do not get suspicious of each other over small little things and start accusing each other (believeth all things--1cor13:7)

Well, this is love at a micro level. I spent years of time pondering the true love of Christ. It was not the nails but love that kept Christ on the cross. Because Christ loved us, He did not call his legions of angels to destroy the roman soldiers, like He had every right to. Instead, He meekly hung on the cross, bearing our sins. That is love. willing to suffer and die for what you love.

Well, whoosh... I wrote such a long article.. I din believe I would have... Hmm.. perhaps I should write something similar for the next CYV article...

Well, just to share a bit.. I, like every guy of my age... face a lil' bit of such problems.. And i'm currently in the middle of one. Well, that's why I started typing this post in the first place.. But I really covet your prayers. Well, I guess i'll stop here... Above is all my head knowledge.. I just pray that I may be able to apply them to heart.
